Frequently Asked Questions

Want to know…

If so, you’ve come to the right place! Here, you’ll find answers to some of the most common questions we hear every day. If you still have questions after reading this page, please feel free to call and ask. We’re always willing to take extra time to help you better understand your dental care.

How often should I visit my dentist?

According to our own Dr. Alexandria N. Arditti and the American Dental Association, patients of all ages should visit their dentist at least twice a year in order to keep their teeth clean and prevent tooth decay, cavities, gum disease, and other common dental issues.

When should my child have their first dental appointment?

The American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry suggests that a child should have their first dental checkup within 6 months of their first tooth erupting or no later than their first birthday.

Can you help fix my cavity?

We certainly can! If it is small, we can repair it in just one visit using a tooth-colored filling. However, if the damage is a little more extensive, we may choose to use a dental inlay, onlay or crown. Regardless of which one we use, we’ll make sure to preserve as much of your tooth as possible so that it will look great and stand the test of time.

What can you do about my missing teeth?

Quite a bit, actually! We have you covered whether you’re missing a single tooth or an entire mouthful. Dental bridges can be used to replace a single missing tooth or a few in a row, or we can make you a denture that can restore even more teeth than that.

However, for the best looking and longest lasting results, we may suggest that you get dental implants. This is the only treatment that can completely rebuild a lost tooth from root to crown, and it’s the only tooth replacement that can last for 30 years or more!

What can you do to make my smile look better?

Our cosmetic services are specifically geared to improve the appearance of our patients’ smiles, and we can use them to do everything from whitening your teeth to giving you a complete smile makeover. It’s entirely up to you!

My gums bleed whenever I brush my teeth. Is this normal?

This is only normal if you are brushing/flossing too hard or if you have gum disease. Try cleaning your teeth with a gentler touch for about a week, and if the bleeding still occurs, it’s likely that you have an infection, and you should contact us as soon as you can for treatment.

What can I do to make my dental care more affordable if I don’t have dental insurance?

For people just like you, we actually have our own In-House Health and Wellness Plan. For one flat fee, you’ll have access to FREE preventive services and significant discounts on others. This plan will give you all of the benefits of dental insurance without any of the restrictions. To learn more about everything it has to offer, you can read about it right here.
