Here are a few examples.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<!--more-->\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Avoid Covering Your Face<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>When meeting someone new for the first time, people subconsciously check your face for subtle signs that you\u2019re engaged and listening. If you\u2019re covering your face with your hat, your hands, or your phone, you\u2019ll naturally come across as aloof and apathetic.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Instead, focus on looking at the person you\u2019re talking to and keep your hands away from your face when they\u2019re talking.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Adopt Open Body Language<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Nobody ever wants to be a bother, so if you seem like you aren\u2019t open to talking, you might wind up turning some people away. Even if you aren\u2019t intending to, your body language might be conveying that you aren\u2019t really interested in having a conversation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Crossing your arms in front of your body or slouching heavily can make you appear sealed off to others, so try opening up your posture if you want to seem approachable.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Show People a Smile (When Appropriate)<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Studies have shown that people who smile constantly can appear insincere, but it\u2019s also true that a well-timed grin makes you seem confident and appealing.
